WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?
I love collecting matches because since traveling is my favorite thing in the world, each matchbox is associated with a place and a memory. And added value, they are wonderful decorative objects.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?
My favorite ones are these top 5: Ralph’s from Ralph cafe in Paris. I used to always go there with my mum when I was living there. @foreigncinemasf from a restaurant in San Francisco where I went last summer with my boyfriend the last night of our California trip (it’s a magical place). Puerto Chico from a wonderful dinner I had in Barcelona and @ristorante_camponeschi is one of our favorite restaurants in Rome for our family’s dinners. “The coffee and cigarette” one is the only not linked to a specific memory but it is hand painted by a girl in Rome and I always buy her creations in one of my favorite bookstores close to my home.
WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?
I have a bowl with all of them on a coffee table in my bedroom but I am actually very parsimonious on how often I use them. I strangely feel sad if the box ends up empty. I try to use another box or a lighter in order to preserve at least some original matches on the inside.
