WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?
I enjoy collecting matches because my grandparents also did! I grew up in Mexico City part of my life with them and they had a massive glass goblet FILLED with matchbooks from everywhere in the world they had traveled. Now that I’m a flight attendant and a New Yorker I thought it would be a great time to really ignite my collection!
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?
My favorite ones are the two orange ones shown in the photo — one is from my first trip to Italy at this gorgeous hotel in Lake Como and the one named Citrus is my first trip to Charleston, SC — rated one of the best cities in the US. I loved the rooftop @thedewberrycharleston hotel there! That’s where I got those. Another favorite one is from @motelmexicola in Bali, Indonesia. As you can tell, I love to travel! These matchbooks are a sublime little reminder of all my trips!
WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?
I actually don’t use my matches very much! I keep them far away from my roommates, haha! I really enjoy having them on display in this beautiful glass I got from @thefutureperfect. The glass reminds me of the same giant goblet my grandparents had! I hope to inherit their collection and continue to grow my own!
