WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?
I'm drawn to most matches through the design of them! As a designer, I really appreciate anything that has a strong design element to it, so the matchbooks and matchboxes I've curated are mainly because I appreciate or draw inspiration from their design. I also love grabbing matches while traveling or exploring a new place as it brings me back and gives me a reminder of places I've enjoyed.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?
Some of my favorite matches are ones that are either designed by friends or have some sort of emotional tie attributed to them. For example, I love my matches that I brought back from random spots in Paris—they're so simple but bring back great memories. Another favorite is from the @sandshotelspa in Palm Springs. My best friend discovered it and we share some really great memories there; the hotel is also designed by one of my favorite designers, @martynbullard, so that's an additional plus :) Lastly, I love the matches that my friend Abigail Price sent me from her store in NYC, @shopabbode!
WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?
When I light my Santal 33 or Jo Malone Lime Basil and Mandarin candle at the end of a long day, a rainy day, or a cozy night.
