WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?
I started collecting matches from every café and hotel I went to when I arrived in Paris as a student. I love matches because they evoke a special memory and have an ephemeral quality. They fascinated me as a child because they are tiny and poetic—I have loved them ever since.

My favorite ones are those attached to a particular memory. I love @lecafedeflore ones where I once met a dear friend and those with balloons that I found at an antique store.
WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?
When I feel in a dreamer mood, with a beautiful candle, at night. I adore the crackling sound.
