WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?
I collect matches because it is like collecting snippets of memories. I also just really enjoy the graphic design work that goes into matchboxes and matchbooks.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?
One of my absolute favorite matchboxes is from @mrchow. I love that the matchbox has a portrait of Mr. Chow by David Hockney on it - it feels very special. My second favorite is from @hotelcostes in Paris. The matchbox is very simple but I spent a really fun weekend at the hotel with my siblings a few years ago so it has sentimental value.
WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?
I don’t like to use most of the matches in my collection so they just sit in a pile in a glass vase in my apartment. This means that I also have a ton of lighters around my apartment so I can use those to light candles. I like to look through them occasionally and remind myself of certain hotels, restaurants and trips I have been on.
