WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?
I like to collect matches for the aesthetic of my candle collection. The boxes of the matches is what catches my eye, I’m big on package design, it’s what fuels my purchases. Most of the time I don’t even light my candles with my matches so I can preserve them to have them as precious, but fun decor.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?
My favorite matchboxes are the @chromeheartsofficial and @officialbyredo ones. They both display an image of two of my favorite things: California, my home and roses, my name and favorite flower. The way the images are printed on are done in a unique design, it isn’t just a logo slapped on a box, it has some unique detail taken from the brands’ identity.
WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?
I enjoy my matches by lighting my favorite candle which is the “Roses” @diptyque large sized candle that comes in a baby pink porcelain vase. This candle fills the room with the beautiful scent of the May Rose and a hint of cedar. Using my matches for this special candle brings me joy and warmth that I can enjoy by myself, no company is needed in this moment. It is a content, safe feeling.
