WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?
To me, collecting matches is another way of collecting memories. Like photographs, they are a sort of tangible representation of a place and time that I enjoyed.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?
I love my matchbox from a bar in LA called @thefriendbar. It is special to me because I actually got in on a really fun trip with my friends Susie Benitez, @allegrathomas and @mandyfreebairn. I also love my matchbox from a French restaurant in Philadelphia called Parc. A lot of my family is from Philly, and looking at it reminds me of them :) Finally, I love my matchbox from @westvillenyc. During my first few years of college, I would treat myself to Westville on the weekends and then sit in the park and enjoy a coffee. The matchbook reminds me of peaceful mornings.
WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?
I like to display my matches in a clear vase on my window sill. I love it when the sunshine hits them and I can see all of the different colors and designs. Ironically, my favorite way to light my candles is with my @glossier lighter. I love cozy nights with candles and some Billie Holiday!
