WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?
Matches are a great way to keep my favorite spots in mind or make me feel home away from home. Now that I moved to Milano, it makes me happy to see on my living room table a matchbox from New York City; it makes me think there is a little bit of that city in where I am right now. There is also something very old school that I like about matches: the gesture you make to light them and the references in movies like those by Sergio Leone, where it’s all about matches and cigars. When I go back home to my countryside house I keep finding old box of matches..someone in my family must have had the same obsession.

Here is a picture of a dear matchbook. This is from the time I drove down to Mississippi with a bunch of friends to go to the blues festival in Clarksdale, possibly one of the best experiences I have had in my life.
WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?
Matches are a very big source of inspiration for my color memory that I apply at the very early stage of the creative process of building my brand's collection. I normally start by collecting all sorts of objects when I start a new season and a few box of matches are always in the mix.
