WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?
The inspiration for @matchesbymem came after my sister told me she wanted to give her boyfriend a framed picture of the matchbook from their favorite place but couldn't because the place didn't have a matchbook. I went to school for graphic design and suggested that I create a print of a matchbook that looks like it is from the place she had in mind. I source and collect matches based on their size, shape, color for the artwork. Ebay matchbook marketplace is my candy shop, and my inner nerd loves it.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?
“What colors make you happy?” is one of the first questions I ask when customers place a custom order. Bright and punchy colors make me happy (obvious why these matchbooks are my favorites).
WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?
Happy memories are important, and I use matches to create artwork that reminds people of that.
