WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?

Lisa: I love matches because it’s an easy and useful souvenir to bring from everywhere, especially from restaurants and hotels that you like. I see it as an upgraded version of a business card. \r\n

\r\nKaterina: Having matches at home always brings up memories. They are like postcards from travel destinations, but much easier to display and have out.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?

Lisa: My favorite one is ours. When we were thinking about merch, this was the first idea that came to mind! It has our QR code in the back as well, so you can have people sign up anywhere anytime! But I also have a sentimental attachment to this unusual cowboy-matchbox that my friend sent to me after I missed out on buying cowboy boots in Aspen (they were too heavy to bring back). It’s a perfect balance between my love for matches and my desire to own a pair of cowboy boots. \r\n

\r\nKaterina: Of course, I love ours! I have some with me at all times. But I've always really loved Rome, the food, and the energy of the city. It's my favorite place. And they have matches pretty much in every restaurant. Two of my favorites are @pierluigiroma and @almororoma. The Pierluigi one is different and has a mysterious aura that's super intriguing. At al Moro make sure to order spaghetti al Moro (Cacio e Pepe with chili pepper), so simple but so good.

WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?

Lisa: I love cigars. So for me the longer ones are a must for my collection. @birley_cigars have a wonderful selection, while the bar @claridgeshotel has the best terrace for an afternoon smoke (make sure to ask for extra cookies). @theconnaught recently opened a cigar shop as well, it’s stunning and gives a speakeasy vibe because you have to enter through a hidden door. Next step for Curated Community merch would be cigar matches! \r\n

\r\nKaterina: For me, matches serve two purposes—decorative and emotional. I love having them out on the coffee table next to my Assouline books. Matches are also a great conversation starter when you’re out. The other day, I was at @the22.london and someone asked me for a light. Conveniently having a box of Curated Community matches, you can only guess how many new sign ups we got that night!
