WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?
To me, matchbooks are the perfect, petite keepsake. I enjoy collecting them because each evokes a sense of enjoyment and nostalgia. I’ve also always been interested in art & design and it intrigues me to see how such a simple item can be spun into a unique little masterpiece.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?
I began my collection with a matchbox from a brand that my father always uses, @jao_brand. I like it because it makes me think of him and my family. Its box and matches are all black and white which I love, because it’s super retro and chic.
WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?
I just recently moved to NYC and began collecting them! I like to go out in the city and explore different places. Along the way, I pick up different matchbooks as memories for my endeavors. I run around a lot, but always return home and reflect by lightning my favorite candle, Ambre by @diptyque. I look forward to making even more memories and adding to my collection.
