WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?
I like collecting all sorts of little souvenirs from my travels: pins, pens, postcards. Small things like that. Matchbooks are especially nice, both because they are functional and because they lend themselves to being on display in one’s home.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?
I like the @rowingblazers matchbooks, of course, because they’re mine. They’re also extremely simple. There’s no clever little trick to them. Maybe we’ll do something like that in the future—but I think part of what’s cool about these is how analog and simple they are. I also like the old British Airways Concorde matchbook I have, and another one from an old-school club that is long and narrow, with no text or emblem, but simply the club’s necktie stripe all over.
WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?
I use my matches to light candles sometimes. My favorite is Ernesto from @trudon.
