WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?

I’m a real collector of memories, I like to keep something from the place I’ve been happy in. And matches are to me a sort of business card, with a chic and retro twist, of hotels and restaurants I’ve visited and loved. And most of the times I’m very impressed by the graphics, they are always so different from one another.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?

They all have their own story, but at the moment the ones from @hotelamourniceplage in Nice. Since they opened, I like to escape from Milan and relax there with friends in front of the blue French Riviera water. It’s incredible the attention they put in all the graphics of the hotel. The others are the Camel ones. My boyfriend and I bought an entire box of 50 matchbooks from 1994 in a flea market in Vermont where we used to spend the summer before Covid-19 hit. I really miss those moments hunting treasures like these.

WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?

I keep my matches in a transparent vase in the living room like a sort of furniture piece in continuous evolution, always ready to welcome new matches. The long matches are near the candles and the Palo Santo for my spiritual and relaxing moments.
