WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?
I like matchbooks because they're a great reminder of a moment, and a useful one at that. My family loves to explore new restaurants and cuisines, and as a kid, I noticed my mom or cousin snagging a matchbook after reviewing a good spot as a small token of appreciation of our time together. It was cool, and I don't often see people saving these little guys.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?
My favorite ones are matches from @redouxnyc because I absolutely adore their candle 529 and anything Asia and her team produce, Georgian Bread in Philly during the few months I lived there during quarantine and ate a LOT of Georgian food with my love, and a cute one with a cat sitting at a diner with a burger saying, "he couldn't remember ordering this" that I picked up at a thrift store that I found on a really good day in 2018, and @colbo.nyc because it’s a place that feels good with good people and good coffee.
WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?
I like to keep my matches as little trophies, only using them on special occasions, or when lighting a candle for a dinner party.
