WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?

I like collecting matches because they’re a window to the past. The allure of collecting matches wasn’t always in my purview but I found myself frequently grabbing several from any restaurant, bar, club, or hotel I would visit. They remind me of the good times I’ve had with people I love. Also, the concept of fire lends itself to a brilliant interpretation of passion and revelation - one that will light your way no matter where you go - which I totally adore.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?

My favorite matches are the ones I keep in a @marineserre_official box at my mom’s house in Texas. It’s a small collection but I’ve always been about quality over quantity. I’ve kept these ever since I can remember and most are all sourced from places in Texas! I was born and raised there so looking at these reminds me of my roots and bring me back home, while the others conjure their own delicious memories.

WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?

I love using matches to light scented candles best, especially when the wick is super deep and hard to catch with a lighter. They’re also fabulous for lighting up a joint, sparking the ambience of a fireplace, and for igniting birthday candles when the occasion permits.
