WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?

I've always been a collector of printed matter, especially when traveling, and matchbooks are one of those things I've started collecting over the years as a way to remember an event or a great dining experience.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?

My ultimate favorite matchbook is this large scale guy from @receptionbar.nyc in NYC. It came with the check on one of the first dates my boyfriend and I went on, so it's always reminded me of that time...plus the design of this book is so unique and brilliant! This @jackswifefreda matchbox (we're the perfect match) was one of the first ones that started my interest in them, while this other orange hued tip box from @jgmelon on the Upper East Side is one of my favorite new additions. I love when the design of the matches follows all the way through to the color of the tip. Lastly, this mini matchbox of Montmartre is definitely the smallest box in my collection. I found it at a boutique in Bushwick, even though you'd think I got it in Paris.

WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?

I actually love using my matches when I go to light a candle. I tend to stray away from using super sentimental ones, but the boxes I have duplicates of, I don't see why not I wouldn't use them for their purpose! I also love using them as a display piece on my bookshelf. Bowls and bowls and bowls of matches.
