WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?
Most of my matches are from bars or restaurants. I’m selective in what I take and it will typically be at the end of a particularly memorable evening. I love the intricacies of the design of a matchbook and I pore over every detail, from the typography down to the color of the head.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?
I snagged a large box set from @haydesign in Copenhagen (one of my favorite stores and city) and it features three flamingos in a pool of bright blue water, surrounded by lush palms. The colors are vibrant and the illustration is endearing but above all, it’s a sentimental piece that serves as a reminder of that trip.
WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?
I always keep a small pile of matchbooks on the corner of my coffee table tray, next to the wick trimmer. There’s nothing like popping open a new candle at the end of a long day, striking a match against the book, and lighting up the perfect scent.
