WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?
I started collecting matches a couple of years ago on a trip to NYC before I moved here officially. They are reminders of memories, meals, and travels with my friends and loved ones all over NYC and the rest of the world too. They’re also amazing conversation starters in your home, and I love to trade matches with friends from places we’ve traveled to.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?
My favorite matches are attached to fond memories, like visiting Italy with my mom and having dinner at@langosteria in Milan, or from trips back home to Texas and eating at @joetgarcias_ in Forth Worth. Although, the most special matchbox to me is actually from my 24th birthday party. My friends surprised me with custom matches designed with icons of my favorite things and it’s one of the most meaningful and fun gifts I’ve ever received!
WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?
I love to have mine on display around my apartment and typically never use them. Occasionally, I like to write the date on the inside of matchbooks to remember when I visited that restaurant. I also love to gift them to friends as well!
