WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?
I’ve always loved collecting matchbooks—there’s something nostalgic and charming about them. Each one feels like a tiny snapshot of a moment, a place, or a memory. Over time, I realized they told a story when grouped together, like a visual diary of travels, favorite restaurants, and design details I was drawn to. That love for matchbooks sparked the idea behind my matchbook wallpaper—turning a personal collection into a bold, playful, and graphic statement piece that celebrates everyday art in a totally unexpected way.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?
My favorite matchbook in the whole collection is from my parents’ wedding. They used them as creative table cards—each guest got a matchbook with their table number on it. I’ve held onto it for years, and it felt so special to include it in the wallpaper design. It’s this tiny, meaningful detail woven into the pattern that ties the whole piece back to my love for storytelling through design.
WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?
I love using my matchbooks as little pops of art and personality around the house. They’re styled on trays, tucked into bookshelves, or framed in shadowboxes—just these tiny, graphic moments that spark nostalgia and start conversations. To me, they’re more than just matches—they’re design objects. I pull them into my styling the same way I would a piece of art or a vintage find. They bring warmth, character, and a sense of story to a space in such an effortless way.
