WHY DO YOU LIKE AND COLLECT MATCHES?
I’ve only started to collect them recently when I saw my husband’s grandmother’s extensive collection. She’s 94 and lives in Milan. We’ve sat together on her couch for hours going through them and I heard so many legendary stories. They’re the coolest souvenir and on top of it they’re useful!
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ONES AND WHY?
My favorite ones are from @pietronolita, obviously. They’re the most playful and remind me of having the best carbonara in town surrounded by people I love. I know I’m biased since it’s my husband’s restaurant but you can’t deny both the fun and the triumph of his mom’s recipes. I also love Le Turtle’s for the shape, colors and graphics. I don’t think the restaurant exists anymore, which makes it even more special. And also these from my favorite steakhouses: classic and finest NYC gems.
WHEN AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO ENJOY YOUR MATCHES?
I use them to light candles in special occasions. I feel like they’re good omen.
